The Council meets a minimum of four times per year to propose goals for increasing educational attainment in Washington. Specific emphasis is on improving student transitions from secondary to postsecondary education.
The Council and agency staff will recommend to the Legislature and governor resources needed to achieve the goals and monitor progress. Duties of the agency also include administering student financial assistance programs and the GET college savings program, and protecting education consumers in Washington.
