Freedom of inquiry, freedom of discussion, and freedom of teaching— without these a university cannot exist.

Blog Comment Policy

Through this blog, the Washington Student Achievement Council (Council) provides an opportunity to share and discuss information about issues, programs and activities that increase educational attainment in Washington.

The comments and opinions published on this blog do not necessarily reflect the views of the Council or its employees.  All public comments are screened before posting to ensure compliance with this comment policy. We do not discriminate against any views, but we reserve the right not to post comments.

We welcome your comments and expect that all participants will treat each other, as well as our agency and its employees, with respect.  We will not post comments that:

  • Contain vulgar, threatening, or harassing statements, personal attacks of any kind, or offensive language that target specific individuals or groups;
  • Make unsupported accusations;
  • Are not relevant to the topic under discussion;
  • Are determined to be spam;
  • Promote services or products (non-commercial links that are relevant to the blog post or comment may be acceptable);
  • Promote or oppose any person campaigning for election to a political office or promote or oppose any ballot proposition;
  • Include private information in the body of the comment, including phone numbers, home addresses, or email addresses.

Comments will not be edited. Only those that fully comply with this policy will be considered for posting.

The Council is unable to post comments from children under the age of 13 due to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you are 12 years old or younger, you may email us rather than posting a comment on this blog.

Reviewing and posting of comments generally will occur during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. Because of limited staffing and other considerations, the Council cannot guarantee that approved comments will be published within a particular time frame.

To ensure a speedy and appropriate response, members of the news media should direct questions to the Council’s public information office and refrain from submitting questions as comments on the blog site.

The Council reserves the right to modify or amend this policy at any time.  Bloggers are fully responsible for the contents of their comments. All posted comments are in the public domain.
