Council to discuss strategies to increase educational attainment

Olympia—Halfway through the ten year 2013 Roadmap to increase educational attainment, the Washington Student Achievement Council will meet on January 30 to review progress over the past five years and discuss new strategies to expand educational success to more Washington residents. 

The goals, set in 2013, are for adults ages 25-44. By 2023:

  • All adults will have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 70 percent will have a postsecondary credential.

Currently 56 percent of Washington residents have a postsecondary degree and 91 percent have a high school diploma or equivalent. 

The meeting will take place on January 30 between 9 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. at the Capital Event Center in Tumwater. Public comment will begin at 2:30 p.m.

All meeting materials will be available online the day of the meeting.
